In one of our closest finishes, UC Davis edged out UC Berkeley by 15 points! Davis’ success is due in good part to the Davis women: Erica Williams won Div I, and Angelique Crest & Cori Chapin won Div II 1st and 2nd places, respectively! Also for Davis, Aleksey Chebotarev finish Men’s Div II in 2nd place.
San Jose State University (SJSU) is strong again bringing 4 players, with Daniel DiMaggio finishing 3rd in Div III and Jose Rodriquez winning Div III !
Sue Sublaban (The Sue ) is back and in good form: she won Men’s Div II ! … Well, you know what that means: Men’s Div I next at UC Santa Cruz.
Larry Pack has been playing well over the past year, but lost to lefties the last 3 tourneys! We at UC Santa Cruz know Larry has been focusing on lefties for a while (!) - lot’s a serves and shots to the forehand side - and it paid off: Larry beat a leftie on the way to winning Div I !
Super Special Guest Donovan Scott leads a backhand tune-up clinic
This past summer Donovan attended a USA Racquetball Elite Camp, and brought us some of the skills and techniques he learned at camp.
Donovan lead a backhand clinic followed by individual instruction focusing on foot placement, balance, and power generated
through the timing of the major components of the swing.
