We have two great new additions to the WCRC: Javier and Geraldo Meza of Foothill College. Both have played in World Junior Racquetball Championships, and are now competing at the collegiate level. Javier was able to beat two-time Men's I winner Larry Pack to win Men's I.

Rafael Palomino has been working his way up through Men's II, finally winning and moving to div I.

Sac is back! About 4 years ago Sac was dominating the WCRC with top players (and their brand of entertainment), then years of just a few players. Now, Sac is back with 5 players including The Sue - Sue Sublaban now playing Men's I and bringing plenty of fun attitude-tainment, and the new Jerry Bennett winning Men's III.

The San Jose State University team is growing stronger, fielding 4 players again (with 2 more missing this tourney) … Josh Rodriguez last year won Men's III at UC Davis, and played a tough close match in the Men's II finals at this tourney.

 

The WCRC women are continuing with a strong turn-out and fun competitive play.  The two Women's divisions provide better parity and good competition.   Cori Chapin has been close to winning Women's II, but there was always another UC Davis player there to win.  Now she's won div II and is on to Women's I!

Once again the Berkeley Women dominate with good players and a full team … Hey, there are plenty of other schools looking for defections!  Or, more like, "Our school needs you: An internship for Women's Racquetball Development Specialist.  Duties include playing in the WCRC for our school."

Some years ago a young Jose Diaz was our special guest as the kid phenom, taking on all challengers to see if you could score a point! Now, Jose is 41 in the world, made it to the semi-finals in the open division last month at the US Open, and put on a clinic!
