Fall 2009, UC Berkeley

2009-2010 Season

The WCRC is new and improved !  Half of the participants are new to the WCRC this year.  And, the women's draw is improved and growing with 16 players!

Candy Wong won the Women's division, continuing where she left off winning last Spring at UC Santa Cruz. Veteran Christine O'Neil of Stanford came in second, and Martha Ferhman and Kim Davis of UC Santa Cruz came in third and fourth ... The Davis women usually have top results at our Davis tourneys, so the  Feb 6, 2010 Davis tourney is going to be very interesting!

Congratulations to Steve Harrell of Cal for winning Men's II  ... He will be a part of the rebuilding of Men's I.  Last Fall in Men's III, Steve Harrell won and Ryan Hebler of UC Santa Cruz finished in the semi finals.  This Fall in Men's II, Steve won and Ryan finished second to Steve.  Rick Alfaro won Men's III early 2009 at UC Davis, and finish third in Men's II.

10 of the 13 Men's III players are new to the WCRC this year. Welcome! New player Henry Kelly from UC Santa Cruz won Men's III. We look forward to players improving and growing with the WCRC.

A very special thanks to David "Bobby" Horn for bringing pro level racquetball to the WCRC. David is currently ranked around 50th, and is back from an injury and will be back hitting the Pro Tour this season. It's great experience for the other Men's I players, and everyone else at the tourney, to see pro level racquetball.

Our next Tourney is scheduled for
Sat. Feb. 6, 2010 at
UC Davis
with 7 glass racquetball courts !!!
